Blunt Applauds Rules Committee Approval of Brett Blanton’s Nomination to Serve as Architect of the Capitol

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, released the following statement today after the committee approved the nomination of Brett Blanton to serve as Architect of the Capitol:

“Brett Blanton has the right background and credentials to serve as Architect of the Capitol. The leadership experience he gained over more than two decades in the U.S. Navy, combined with his significant background in facilities operations and construction management, make him well prepared for the job. I hope to see him quickly confirmed by the Senate so he can begin tackling the major challenges facing the agency, from strengthening transparency and oversight to completing major renovation projects and ensuring the Capitol grounds and facilities will be preserved for future generations.”
